Toronto.- Jenna Talackova, la primera persona transexual que compitió en el concurso de belleza Miss Universo Canadá, logró posicionarse dentro de las 12 finalistas, pero no obtuvo el título de la mujer más bella.

En este sentido, Talackova representó a Vancouver durante la competencia contra 61 participantes y obtuvo un lugar dentro de la penúltima fase, aunque no logró consolidarse dentro del grupo de las cinco.

Sin embargo, su mayor satisfacción fue haber hecho historia con su participación dentro de los certámenes de belleza, además de cambiar las reglas de la competencia.

Minutos antes del concurso, Talackova, de 23 años, aseguró que este evento en su vida significaba mucho ya que le daría oportunidad de abrir su mente al mundo.

“Siento que soy la candidata perfecta para el título, porque vivo un estilo de vida que fomenta la salud, tengo mente abierta y compasiva. Soy ambiciosa y siempre estoy dispuesta a dar y recibir inspiración de otros”.

Finalmente, a pesar de que acaparó la atención durante el transcurso del certamen, la rubia de 1.85 metros de altura no corrió con suerte, pues no obtuvo ninguno de los premios de la competencia preliminar.
